Project #77023 - Marketing Project

Marketing Project

Design some type of parity product. What are some different kinds of merchandise or products that are in stores today? Hygiene products, convenience store items, retail store merchandise, even children’s toys are acceptable ideas.

 1. Compose a Press Release

First decide on a company name, design a company logo, and compose a company slogan or jingle.

Use these in a letterhead that also includes the names of all team members. You may also create a symbolic address, phone number, and web address for their fictional company to use in the letterhead.

On the letterhead, you should identify the kind of product the company will market, its name, and its function. This document should follow the inverted pyramid style (identifying the product benefits as well as the date of release, price, and target audience) in the first paragraph. Bullets are acceptable and students may choose to use an “If you act now. . .” or a “For a limited time. . .” technique to promote initial sales. In addition, the document should report who will be working on which part of the project in the final paragraph.

 2. Product Summary

You must have information filled out in every section of summary card (play “devil’s advocate” with your product).

The summary card worksheet is only a model (or blueprint) for you to outline your ideas and thoughts. Use the information in each section for some kind of multi-media presentation.

How would advertisers use this information in pitching their ideas to new clients?

 3. Prototype

Students must provide a visual representation of the actual product. The Prototype does not have to be a perfect model, but it should assimilate a real product as much as possible. Students are to be industrious in the development of their prototype and NOT solely rely on purchasing things to accomplish the task.

 4. Advertisements

Students are to create three radio advertisements and three flyers that promote their product.

Radio stations subscribe to particular music genres. Radio ads, therefore, should be designed for specific music genres to give the product the best chance in that market. The flyer should also use the music genre to focus on a specific audience.

Radio ad should be no more than one minute long and design a one-page flyer.

Music genres for this project include Classical, Disco, NPR, 70s Rock, 80s Rock, Hard Rock, and Oldies.

How will you reach your audience to give your product the best chance for success?

 Thank You
