Project #78713 - Financial Management Discussion Question

I need 200 word count Discussion Question APA format no cover sheet needed MBA level answers please

Based on your learning from this session's topic, discuss the following questions. Think of some specific examples/scenarios to illustrate your answer, and post a response to at least one classmate's posting. Responses must be substantive and add value to the discussion.

  1. Why does it make sense for for-profit corporations to maximize shareholder wealth? Can the goal of maximizing the value of the stock conflict with other goals, such as avoiding unethical or illegal behavior? In particular, do you think subjects like customer and employee safety, the environment, and the general good of society fit in this framework, or are they essentially ignored?
  2. How do financial cash flows and the accounting statement of cash flows differ? Which is more useful for analyzing a company?
  3. A financial ratio by itself tells us little about a company because financial ratios vary a great deal across industries. There are two basic methods for analyzing financial ratios for a company: Time trend analysis and peer group analysis. In time trend analysis, you find the ratios for the company over some period, say five years, and examine how each ratio has changed over this period. In peer group analysis, you compare a company's financial ratios to those of its peers. Why might each of these analysis methods be useful? What does each tell you about the company's financial health?
