Project #79885 - Psychology responses

1.Repond to the students topic on this person: Roger Brown (April 14, 1925 – December 11, 1997) received the Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award of the American Psychological Association in 1971, the G. Stanley Hall Prize in Developmental Psychology of the American Association in 1973, and the Fyssen International Prize in Cognitive Science in 1984 for several important theories.  He focused on language and cognition in regards to language acquistion, the tip of the tongue phenomenon, guidelines on when to use familiar or polite pronouns in languages that functioned with them, and flashbulb memories.

2. Reciprocal Alturism is when one person makes scarfices for someone else, in the hopes that the person they made scarifices for will do so for others in the future. This influences each of use to try and do things for others, so that the cycle will continue. A good example of this in real life is the concept of paying it forward. An example all the small end of the spectrum could be someone holding the door open for someone and letting them go in first. Though it is the poilte thing to do, one would hope that the person would be encourage to hold the door open for someone else at some point.

3. The journal article "Conformity to Peer Pressure in Preschool Children" by Haun and Tomasello (2011), uses experimental research designs in two experiments. The hypothesis of the journal article was that childern are sensitive to peer pressure at an early age and with when the children hear the answers of their peers they will be more likely to choose the same answer as their peer, whether it is right or not.
