Here are two posts from my classmates, reply each with 150word+.

POST1:My analysis of poverty in the U.S. sees’ how functionalism take a part in the poverty issues we face in the U.S. Functionalism provide low paying jobs and provide society with people that are willing to do less liked and less paying jobs. Some major reasons for poverty are due to bad schools, bad economy and family break down such as one parent households. Lower class and working poor are the ones that feel the effect of poverty. Many adults actually work for a living, usually at low-paying or part time jobs. Conflict perspective also known as the “have and have not’s” system based on two classes such as owners and workers, certain occupation are rewarded because we’re forced to. social stratification takes place by the owner ( bourqeoisie) and worker (proletariat)to determine the rank of the worker. It’s used to base the pay and job title, and due to the owner having all the money and the power, the owner is the one that does the exploiting.  Symbolic Interactionist are usually labeled as people being raised in poverty grow accustom to living in poverty and are in a cycle that is difficult to break away from. Symbolic Interactionist, also have to do with people in poverty that are labeled as lazy and have no desire to better their situation and lose out on opportunities due to the label. It’s difficult for people in poverty to change their lifestyle due to the lack of role models and their lack of support

POST2:Poverty in the U.S is a on going issue. Poverty is a a part of the society and the system. the way that Poverty fits into functionalism is the fact that poverty is one of the interrelated parts of the society as a system. The U.S is a constant struggle because a big part of its population is unemployed and this causes the percentage of poverty to go up. Just like in the conflict theory the U.S is in a constant struggle with poverty. In the United States symbolic interactionsim and poverty go hand in hand because people my have a different behavior with a person that is poor than on that one that has money. This has been proven when driving down the road and seeing a homeless person and say "Oh look why doesn't he just get a job instead of standing there." People do not stop and think about how hard it is for them to get a job because they have no home, cannot shower, afford the appropriate interview attire people just think that they are lazy and do not want to work like the rest of society so people have a different behavior with them. The theory that has the most logical perspective on poverty is the conflict theory. The fact that the conflict theory sees society as being in a constant struggle because of the limited of resources. Because there is a struggle between people and the limited sources that there is in the United States like jobs. Also the fact that people are always fighting to be "on top."

here is the disscussion topic of the above posts:(dont answer the question below, i finished it already, i just need 2 replies)

give an analysis of poverty in the U.S, using the theories -- In your own words (functionalism, conflict, and symbolic interactionism). Explain the perspective that gives the most logical explanation. Why? Examine from a sociological perspective (not a personal perspective).
