POST 1

Hello colleagues, faculty, family, and friends my name is Julian Mejia, I’m from the Dominican Republic. Today we are here to celebrate the end of our long journey to become expert on our field, a journey to a MBA. We have overcome procrastinations, late nights, long weekends and disappointment of not being able to go on vacation. Today we can say good bye to all that, say welcome to a new you, the serious you like AIU slogan said. We have now become experts in our field. We can help create a better workforce, create a better work environment and motivate our employees to strive to achieve more. Remember what got us here; the drive and the determination that helped us obtain a MBA. Remember the skills and the lessons that we learned at Walden University, so when hard time comes, just look back on all this to help you get through it. Thank you for your hard work and determination. Thank you for all your passion and see you in the workforce.

One of the strengths that I will use help me accomplish my MBA, is the ability to overcome adversity. I will strive to work two weeks ahead of my classmates because things always happen. I believe my desire to become educated and determination to become an expert in my field will help me get through any procrastination problem. I’m very good at planning and managing time, but by working ahead will give me an edge on my study. I have a passion for business or work to build a big corporation like some of the business leaders have done such as Steve Jobs. He was a great leader, great innovator, a passionate individual who single- handedly changed the way we use technology today.

POST 2

Journeying through uncharted waters can be an intimidating experience full of anticipation, anxiety and fearful of the unknown.  It had been 8 years since the last time I went to school so I was a little nervous to get back in the saddle of countless essay writings and sleepless nights.  I kept asking myself, am I ready (and do I want to) embark on this quest.  If the answer is yes I knew it meant a complete change of life style sacrificing my personal and social life.  If the answer is no, I also knew that I would regret what could have been an achievement of my lifetime.

My father would always engrave in my head, “The lazy works double”.  I stand before you because I chose to travel the difficult path.  Yes, I had many sleepless late nights and yes I had to turn down many weekend excursions.  The rewards however have greatly outweighed the loops of fire and hurdling challenges that bruised my brain into OJ pulp. What kept me alive? The persistence and drive to reach the peak of a mountain kept me from giving up quickly and taking the easier road.  The lazy works double.

The first day of school was overwhelming with so many reading of articles, discussions, assignments that I was almost immediately discouraged.  However knowing who I am, I tend to look at the whole picture and overwhelm myself.  Walden University offered many helpful tools to break down the huge picture into smaller frames, puzzle pieces in a way.  The faculty provided insightful resources and road signs to ensure I stayed on the right path. I took advantage of these tools and I was able to tackle each task individually, setting each puzzle piece together.

As I look back at the footprints left behind, I can see the masterpiece that hard work, commitment and perseverance created.  All the pieces have come together with my signature of achievement waiting to be shared with the rest of the world.  I can say with pride, “I did it!” and so can you.

My name is Ruby Stephens and I come from a avenue of hard struggles but I chose not to work double!
