1. Describe the interrelationship between heart rate, oxygen uptake, and the expenditure of work, and explain why heart rate is useful for ergonomists in measuring metabolic processes.

 

2. Why should the presentation of an emergency signal by several modalities (such as light and sound) together be advantageous over presenting the signal to only one type of sensor?
