Project #81829 - Strategic Staffing Plan

Much research has been conducted on the strategic function of human resources planning.  For example, consider the restructuring of a large organization to meet proposed changes in the strategic plan.  Some companies change their overall strategy more regularly (every 2-5 years) and some wait much longer.  The point is that when a company changes its strategy, human resources needs change as well.

Using the library databases, find peer-reviewed articles that present information on strategic planning from the human resources perspective.  Present your research in a written assignment.  Hint: I just searched the ProQuest database using the keywords "human resources strategy" and had a return of 112,736, full-text, peer-reviewed sources.

The written component of this assignment should be a minimum of 3 full pages (not including the the title and reference pages) and be cited and formatted according to APA Style (see the APA resources included in the Student Resources Page).  Note that I will deduct points for not meeting the page requirement.

Additional information:

  • See the link to the FSW Library Research Tutorial.  Be sure to review how to find peer-reviewed (scholarly) articles.  World Wide Web articles will not be accepted.
  • The paper must be written in third person.  See the “First.Second.Third Person Handout” in the Resources section on the course homepage.
  • When writing the paper, please remember that direct quotes are NOT permitted.
  • The paper should have one-inch margins all the way around.
  • Be sure to include page numbers and the appropriate heading in the header of the document.
  • Twelve point, Times New Roman font is required
  • The textbook may not be used as a source for this assignment
  • Carefully review your paper for spelling, grammatical, and writing style errors.  See the “Grammar Tips Handout” in the Course Resources section on the course homepage.  I will deduct points for using contractions (e.g. isn’t, wasn’t, can’t, etc.), a scholarly written paper “reads” nicer without them and your professor does not want you to use them.

This is a general overview of what elements I will be looking for when grading your paper:

  • Content addresses the topic
  • APA documentation style and formatting used appropriately
  • Spelling, grammar, and writing style
  • Page count
  • Papers will automatically be submitted to Turnitin to check for plagiarism.  See the syllabus for my policy on plagiarism (zero for the assignment and referred to the dean).

Submit the assignment via Canvas drop box as a Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rft) file attachment.

WARNING: Be sure to check the file extension for attached documents. Students sending a file name followed by .lnk are sending a link to a file and not the actual file. Your professor is unable to link to files on your computer at home. Students who attach a file with a .lnk file extension will receive a zero for the assignment. Be sure to check all attachments for this issue. There are no exceptions to this policy.
