1/2 medium spanish onion, minced or processed

4 shakes Worcestershire sauce

1/4tsp allspice (1 good pinch)

1/2tsp ground cumin (2 good pinches)

cracked black pepper

1/3lb brick of smoked cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2in slices

4 fresh, crusty onion rolls

thick sliced tomato and lettuce to top

1) Following the recipe, (a) what is the weight of one 1/2in slice of cheese, and (b) what is the thickness of a 1/3lb brick of smoked cheddar cheese?

2) According to the recipe, (a) how many tsp of allspice are in 8 good pinches, and (b) how many tsp of ground cumin are in 7 good pinches?

3) Suppose you are preparing Alaska Burgers for 18 guests. By what factor will you change the ingredient amounts?

4) You know that of the 15 guests at your next party, 5 large eaters will eat 1 1/2 burgers each, 5 children will eat 1/2 burger each, and the rest of the guests will each eat 1 burger. (a) how many burgers will you need, and (b) by what factor will you change the ingredient amounts?
