Project #84374 - 5 to 10 sentences

After reading Gardner and reviewing our Bank of Literary Terms, consider Edna St. Vincent Millay's "Love is Not All" (and assume that she is the speaker).  Why do you think she chose the sonnet as the form for her poem? What is the tone of the poem and what is her abstract idea/message about the value of love? Find two literary devices at work in the sonnet and explain how they contribute to the poem's message and tone.

Finally, do you agree with Millay's assessment of the value of love? Why or why not? Feel free to consider Millay's bio and/or reference your own experiences.
