Week 4: Research--Santiago

Some of you have probably noticed that this book is quite spiritual, which is even more evident after you read a bit deeper into Part Two, but these spiritual elements begin early in the book.

To help you to dig a bit more deeply into this element of the book, I would like you to do a bit of research.

Google the name "Santiago" (the name, not the city) and "The Road to Santiago." Summarize the information that you found in at least two Websites here, using care to avoid plagiarism.

To make proper reference to these sources, please make links to the sources at the end of the summary, and if you quote any material, please put the name of anyone quoted in parentheses at the end of the quote or in a signal phrase.

EX.  This Wikipedia article on the Camino de Santiago states, "Brazilian author Paulo Coelho (Links to an external site.) wrote the book The Diary of a Magus (Magician) or The Pilgrimage (Links to an external site.) based on his own experience along this way [Camino de Santiago]."

Finally, use the research you have found about it and apply that information to the parts of the book that you have read up to this point.  Speculate about why Coelho might have chosen to name his hero Santiago and look at how the Road to Santiago might be related to the fact that this book is the story of a kind of pilgrimage.
