1. View the outdoor field investigations video and reflect on the advantage of using the outdoors to teach science.

2. Review station 1-Conservation and Pollution on the "Jeremiah Jumper and the Wetland Adventure."  Answer the following questions.

  • What are the importance of wetlands?
  • Name the 6 different types of wetlands.
  • What does mitigation mean?

Select another of the 12 stations and write a short summary/reflection (approx. one page in length) describing the station.

3. Review the Power Point presentation on the research collected at the Wetland Adventure's at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens. This PPT is linked below, Water Works: A Wetland Adventure Experience. 

Answer the following questions

  • What were the purposes for each group's participation in the Wetland Adventure?
  • How important do you think preparation is for such an event? and explain your answer.
  • List the activites and concepts covered in each station. 
  • Summarize the results of this research for the students and pre-service educators participating.
