Project #88024 - 2.5Pgs reflection paper

Assignment #1: Your Historical Place in Leading Social Change The point of this assignment is to make relevant use of the concepts discussed in class and to begin to give you practice in reflecting on your own experiences in leadership and change. These concepts include the seven Historical Approaches to leadership from class, the idea of “fields” (aspects of society or life), examples of your attributes (power or authority) that you have in that field and the types of change that can take place. Directions: Name an aspect of your life (field) in which you participate as a leader or a follower (examples: family, school, work, your major, etc.) and answer the following questions: 1. What is the one most significant historical approach to leadership thatyou feel exists in this field or area of your life and why? Do you agree with that historical approach and why? 2. How does change occur in this field or aspect of your life and are you comfortable with the way change happens: revolutionary or evolutionary; predictable or chaotic; originating from the fringe or the center? 3. What attributes do you have that you might use in terms of being involved in leadership - as a leader or a follower. 4. Who would be an example of a great leader for social change in your field? (Just name and short description is sufficient.) Note: This is meant to be a brief reflection paper, about 2.5 pages long (about 800 words). Each question only needs one or two paragraphs at most. This assignment may be useful practice for your final paper.
