(a)   List the main features of Communist (Bolshevik) ideology at the time of the October revolution. In other words, what was the doctrine and general philosophy underpinning the Bolsheviks’ vision for restructuring Russian society?       4 marks























(b)   Account for the Bolsheviks’ successful overthrow of the Provisional Government in the October revolution of 1917. Remember, ‘account for’ means you must provide reasons for. Include reference to the perspectives and interpretations of relevant historians and commentators (see Part 2)                                         10 marks
