Do the drug policies and laws actually contribute to the misrepresentation of illegal drugs? Why should we care that illegal drugs are tainted (or should we care)?

Is legalization and regulation of recreational drugs the answer to reducing and/or eliminating drug related overdoses, sicknesses, etc.
Will this protect the user and ensure safety while doing drugs? Or should more effort be placed upon policies and procedures that eradicate the drug problem all together?

Post 150 words. You don't need to cite, but your posting should demonstrate that you watched the documentary. In addition, respond to a classmate in 150 words as well.

Here is one of my classmates' post: (reply with 150 words+)

I believe that the drug policies and laws should be more spoken about because people are not being told what is in their drug that they are taking. They are not being told about what toxics and how harmful they can be to ones body. The government tells people that drugs are bad but are not giving them the full effect. There is a lot of propaganda to drugs and people should be given the knowledge the good and bad to taking drugs. We should care about illegal drugs are being tainted because so many things that can go wrong to a person by taking a pure drug and even taking the drug that is mixed with other chemicals. No I do not think that the legalization and regulation of recreational drugs would reduce drug related overdoses. Although people will know what they are taking and generally it will be safer but that does not mean that it will reduce overdoses. I do believe that legalizing and making regulations to drugs will ensure more safety for those who do drugs. I do think that there should be more effort should be placed upon policies and procedures that eradicate the drug problem all together.
