Project #91031 - English Interview/paper

Read two papers that i will upload tomorrow then answer the folowing questions for each

1. Is the title of the paper effective and appropriate? Does it help to draw you into the paper? Can you suggest an alternative?

2. Does the introduction interest you and compel you to read on? Does it introduce the topic with important information? Does it describe the interview subject vividly? Suggest an improvement that might "hook" the reader more effectively.  For example, would vivid description of the interview subject in the introduction help to provide context and draw you in?

3. Does the thesis unify the paper, summarizing the author's purpose in the paper? Does it provide both a subject and a main point about the subject? Tell how it might be more focused and specific.

4. Does each paragraph have a topic sentence? Do all the sentences in each paragraph support that main point of the thesis? Is each paragraph developed adequately (long enough)? List any paragraphs that seem to need work and briefly explain the problem.

5. Identify any place that the paper digresses (moves to a different topic and main point) from the one expressed in the thesis.

6. Is there any place where you could have used more information? How well does the writer integrate quotes of the interview subject? How well does the writer describe the features and voice of the interview subject?  Do you have a strong dominant impression of the appearance and voice of the interviewee?

7. Is the paper well organized? Does it move logically and smoothly from one point to the next? Is the organization appropriate to the subject matter? Does the organization lend itself to the interview material
without relying in a heavy-handed use of interview questions to structure the paper? Would you change the organization anywhere? Describe the organization of the essay.

8. Are transitions used effectively? Identify at least one use of transitions and comment on it.

9. Does the paper have a conclusion? Does the conclusion end on a strong note and unite the paper? What kind of conclusion is it (see Conclusions discussion assignment we did in Week 2).  Is is appropriate? How might it be improved?

10. What do you like most about the paper? What do you feel could use the most work?
