Project #91847 - To kill a mockingbird

Read:
I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.
~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chapter 11, spoken by the character Atticus

Think:
When in chapters 1-11 did you see characters demonstrating courage? When did you see characters who thought they were demonstrating courage actually show they were cowardly?

Write:
Write a 500 word essay comparing a character who demonstrated courage by Atticus’ definition to one who acted cowardly. Be sure to include a thesis statement and use evidence from the text to prove your answer.
