8.  At an aggregate plant (crushed rock) each loaded truck is weighed upon leaving as part of the quality control process.  On average, a loaded truck should weigh 28 tons with a standard deviation of 1.5 tons.  The distribution is approximately mound shaped and symmetrical.  Using the data below, make a control chart for the truck weights during a randomly chosen day.  Indicate any out of control warnings that you observe.

The control chart I did is attached (scan 1). 

 

The second part of the question is:

9.  Using the information form #8convert weights of 29 tons and 26 tons to z-scores and sketch the graph of the weight distribution on a bell curve with weights of 29 tone and 26 tons indicated on the graph.  This is also attaches (scan 2).

 

The part I’m having trouble with is:

12.  Using the information about mean weights of loaded trucks in problems 8 and 9 answer the following question:

               a) What is the probability that a single truck chosen at random will weigh more than 29 tons?

               b)  What is the probability that 8 trucks chosen at random will have an average weight of more than 29 tons?
