I have known him very well since we were working partners four years ago as a sojourning employee at Mobis Slovakia and an administrative assistant at Mobis headquarters. In 2010, I was sent to Mobis Slovakia as a material manager from the head office for four years. His role was to manage export auto parts to European region including Mobis Czech and Slovakia, and support sales management at the moment. However, his capabilities were so excellent that he often gave a big hand even to me whose job did not have a direct relation to his role. In 2012, Mobis Slovakia was examining the validity of constructing a new factory. Through cooperation with local workers in Slovakia and related departments in the head office, he led verifying the long-term effectiveness of the new factory involving revenue and profits effects. Thanks to his report, I was able to investigate the total cost of materials for the plant, and that helped the management readily take action about it.

 

In 2014, I became his teammate as starting a new career in the head office after the four-year overseas employee experience. What was different with other assistants from him was he did not just follow directions from supervisors but always tried to think how to influence on the company as a whole through his work and how to make improvement on the current work process. Our team was analyzing monthly sales revenue of export auto parts to overseas plants; this process was somewhat inefficient that all members had to extract necessary data from SAP program and re-organize it for days. However, to get out of such inefficient old systems, he designed a new innovative work system by utilizing his own excel know-how and mastering Visual Basic program. This computerized system increased the level of automation in the work process and at the same time lessened man-hours for each team member by ten hours a month.

 

Moreover, he was promoted to an assistant manager this year and has played a great role as a middle manager with an excellent leadership. In January this year, our division went through reorganization, and my team also had a big change; the team came to involve three working groups from a two-group system. Mike was assigned to a group leader who is the only group leader as an assistant manager as his capabilities were acknowledged. He is leading the working group well with respect for other three members and rational directions to them. Thus, although the group members are just one or two years behind Mike in work experience, he could implant a strong trust in them. In my view, this was possible because he not only had integral skills involving quantitative and analytic skills for the team but also made ceaseless efforts for self-development.

 

 

If he goes to the graduate school at XX University, he will be a good impetus to other students with his special work experience in a field of manufacturing. Thus, I strongly recommend him for admission as a supervisor as well as a teammate for five years.
