Project #94096 - race and ethics

200 words:

America is known as the Melting Pot. We are a nation made up of many cultures and we honor the rights of these culturally diverse Americans to express their ethnic heritage under the protection of the federal government. However, the need for government intervention in state governance has become more frequent with groups of Americans finding that their civil rights are violated or ignored.

We have discussed the various discrepancies in the melting pot and how the concept of a salad bowl is a reference that may better demonstrate the hopes of Americans who find that they are not treated equally. What are your thoughts on how we can move toward not only tolerance, but acceptance at a basic human level, for all peoples of the United States. Also, give your personal view of "E pluribus unum."
