Project #94545 - Integrated Management Systems

From the Textbook: Pardy, W., & Andrews, T. (2010). Integrated management systems: Leading strategies and solutions. Plymouth, United Kingdom: Government Institutes.

Chapter 3: Management Systems: Safety Leads the Way (Finally)

In 200 words, compare and contrast the ILO, ANSI Z-10, and CSA OSH standards per the information in Chapter 3 of the textbook. How are they the same? How are they different?

In 200 words, discuss how the ILO guidelines address hazard prevention and how the approach required by the standard aligns with the concept of hierarchy of controls?

In 200 words, explain why worker participation is universally important to OSH management systems.

In 200 words, research NFPA 1600. How do you think an organization would incorporate emergency and continuity planning into their OSH management systems?

In 500 words, conduct a gap analysis between the organization you selected in the first assignment and one of the standards presented in this unit or another similar standard. Review the materials presented for the ILO, ANSI Z-10, and CSA OSH standards (or from OSHA’s VPP related materials). Based on the information provided, speculate which areas you believe your chosen company will do well and areas where you think they will be lacking. This assignment is to get you thinking about the gap analysis. Use the information on the various elements of management systems standards presented in Chapters 1 and 2 as a guide.
