**Create a power point presentation**

Instructions below:

This project is an in depth exploration of a favorite topic related to Mythology. Presentations can include a work of art, poetry, film, music, philosophy, writing, that demonstrates a mythic theme or symbol. Mythic symbols, themes and characters may also be considered. For example, the symbolism of the Spiral, the Circle, The Mandala, the Ankh, The Trickster, The Land of the Dead would all be good choices. Presentations should include three elements- 1. A mythic story, symbol or theme that contains an archetype or mythic cycle or element that is personally relevant to you and your life story. For example, a mother might write about Demeter and her search for Persephone, an artist or musician might discuss the story of Orpheus, or someone interested in science and engineering might discuss the story of Daedalus and Icarus. 2. Analysis of the myth or symbol using the methods and ideas of at least one mythologist, psychologist or other scholar. For example, Campbell’s hero cycle, Freud’s psychosexual stages, Jung’s archetypes etc… 3. Identification of at least one “modern” version of the myth, archetype or symbol as it appears in literature, film, drama, dance, art or music. For example, students could explain how Luke Skywalker in Star Wars embodies the hero archetype on a journey of “father atonement”. Use this assignment to explore your own creative connection to mythology. “A” Presentation Grading Rubric: (27-30 pts) 1. Originality and creativity –a novel, sophisticated and unique topic 2.
