- Must be 7-8pages long.

- About Women and marriage during the Japanese Edo period. How women were treated, how did they prepare before the marriage, what happened during the marriage, and how they were treated and lived after the marriage.

-Be for both the wealthy side and also the commoner side.

- 3 secondary sources

The five main things the professor is looking for:

People- Which people? Who gets to marry? Who shows up to the marriage? Who does the ceremony?

Events- Preparations, pre cermony, during the cermony, after the cermony, common foods at the wedding, first night after the cermony, party

Ideas- status concerns, sex and who, when, why. What is the marriage for? Benefits to the persons, communites

Structures- organized relationships and communities, roles, responsibilites, peragative, basic economic organization

Dynamics- relationships, development, lifespan, identity

This is only about women and marriage for the Edo period. Not a full history of everything about the Edo period.

Looking for very indepth view of their daily lives and how the marriage was set up and conducted.
