1. 1.. Do you know anyone who has or has had cancer or have you read stories written by cancer patients about their disease? Did you learn about cancer from them that affected your life? Did you make any changes to your lifestyle based on these individual’s experience?
2. 2. When you have a common communicable infectious disease like a cold or the flu, do you do anything to protect others, such as members of your family, from catching your illness? If so, what? Would you do anything differently after reading this chapter? If so, what? Would you use CAM to help “cure” your cold? Why or why not?
3. 3. If someone you loved has died, how did the grieving process affect your psychological, social, and spiritual health? What did you do to overcome the grief?
4. 4. Go through your house or apartment and identify environmental health risks. What can you do to reduce these risks to health?
