I would honestly have to say there were so many involved in the creation of the Internet, and just like a puzzle needs every single piece together or the puzzle cannot be completed. In the early 1970's it was the same with the Internet. Such that Bob Taylor, Larry Roberts, Donald Davies, Steve Crocker, and Jon Postel among the several other members who had vital parts in creating the Internet, these were men science, mathematics, engineering all the elements and pieces that even today still keep not just the Internet going but are also vital elements involved in everyday computers, programming and all aspects of Technology.
Originally in creating the Internet was actually the process of creating a network to connect one location to another, with an eye towards the potential future of maybe even retail use, or connecting different universities or specific departments within different universities around the country. What the Internet has become today is probably far bigger than any of those involved could have imagined they would have successfully achieved. The Internet has opened a world of information, knowledge, possibilities, conveniences, these days there is almost very little you cannot do on the Internet it is amazing how far it has come from the days of merely just a network if you will, even though it can still be looked at as a network, it goes way beyond just a mere network connection.

We use google docs at my job for scheduling, spreadsheets, file sharing and other things. I absolutely love this program and it has been incredibly useful in how we do things. The one thing that I can not stand is spread sheet formatting. I personally think that excel does this a lot better and more efficiently. Google Docs does what it does well, but learning to do certain things takes a bite more time than in word, or excel or other similar programs. However once you learn your way around I do feel it is more streamlined than those other programs.
As far as making the program more user friendly, advanced tooltips for new users would be helpful, with an option to turn them on or off.
